Arzua to Santa Irene, 22/9/2016

We had an uneventful day's walk, and arrived at the albergue Santa Irene, in the town of the same name. This turned out to be one of the nicest albuergues yet. It was a quaint home that appeared to be connected to another home. This led us to believe it to be family run. There was a section with bunk beds, but we were led to the second floor which comprised of one room with a window, and 4 twin beds with blankets. We were all in heaven! We were tired from walking, so decided not to venture from the albergue. We could buy beer and wine from our host, so Jim and Ric went to a nearby restaurant to get snacks to hold is over until dinner, which would also be served by our hosts. Dinner was delicious, and the company was great. There were other pilgrims at dinner. We met a German family comprised of the father and 2 young adult sons making their Camino together. We also met Julie, 69 year old woman who had begun her Camino in St. Jean Pied de Port, the traditional staring point for the Camino Francez route. We also met a young woman from Gallicia, Spain, who was also traveling alone. We were all excited to be nearing the end of our Caminos. We had a great evening, and went to bed early in preparation of our 14 mile walk into Santiago tomorrow
