It is hard to believe, but school registration is in full swing. Current families of both St. Charles and Holy Family parishes are completing paper work to register their child for the 2016-17 school year. It is a blessing and an honor to lead St. Charles Catholic School. We are a vibrant, thriving preschool through 8th grade parish school associated with both St. Charles Borromeo Parish and Holy Family Parish.
We provide an excellent Catholic education with Christ as our model. With the majority of staff members having over twenty years of teaching experience at St. Charles, it is no question that we are bound by a shared vision and mission to teach, live and share the message of Jesus Christ. St. Charles Catholic School follows the curriculum guidelines of the Diocese of Kansas City and St. Joseph. Religious education is the cornerstone of the school and the heart of our curriculum.
As reflected in our patron saint Charles Borromeo, patron of learning and the arts, the parish serves as the anchor for the school and contributes in untold ways to its success. Faith is visible throughout the school and the climate is inviting. According to the most recent survey last fall, parents love St. Charles for the small class sizes and level of care and commitment showed by the teaching staff.
As these qualities set the tone for our school environment, they cannot be underestimated. Teachers consistently go above and beyond for their students--whether using a portion of their lunch time to help a student with a difficult concept, or lending a listening ear for a student in distress, or guiding a student at a crossroads toward a positive path. The teachers at St. Charles work incredibly hard to provide an environment in which instruction is differentiated and tailored to meet the needs of all the students on the academic spectrum. Our office staff members are unfailingly pleasant, patient, and helpful. Support staff from the cafeteria workers to the custodians contribute to the warm, family atmosphere of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School.
