Barcelona--Day 2

We began the day touring the Segrada Familia, Antonin Gaudi's innovative design for a cathedral. His masterpiece incorporates all aspects of nature, principally manifested in the natural materials used for construction, and the ability for natural light to filter through these materials. This basilica has been under construction for 134 years, and will hopefully be completed in 2026, the 100th anniversary of Antonin Gaudi's death. After touring the basilica, we again rode a tour bus, and explored more of Barcelona. We walked to the edge of the city that reaches the Mediterranean Sea, and took time to relax and enjoy the foods and beverages of the region. We sampled a variety of tapas, Cerveza (beer), and vino tinting (red wine).
