Dear Prospective Families,
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in St. Charles Borromeo Academy. We are honored that you are considering our school as a partner in your child’s education and faith formation.
At St. Charles Borromeo Academy, education is a sacred calling. Rooted in Christ and guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, our mission is to form the whole child—mind, body, and soul. Faith is not confined to religion class; rather, it is lived out and intentionally woven into each day. Our academic program is grounded in a classical approach to education, helping students pursue truth, goodness, and beauty. From early childhood through middle school, scholars are taught to read well, write clearly, think logically, and speak with confidence. They engage deeply with literature, history, mathematics, science, and the arts, while learning to see God’s presence and order throughout creation.
We also value traditional instruction that builds strong foundations for lifelong learning. Scholars receive explicit phonics instruction in the early grades, learn both printing and cursive handwriting, study Missouri history, and develop a strong understanding of geography, including continents, countries, and all states and capitals. To build confidence and communication skills, scholars participate in Readers’ Theater and recitations, bringing prayers, poetry, literature, and historical texts to life.
Our youngest learners begin their journey in a joyful, nurturing Early Childhood Program aligned with the Missouri Early Learning Standards. Through purposeful play and hands-on exploration, children develop social-emotional skills, fine and gross motor coordination, early language, and a love of learning—while growing in faith and kindness.
We believe parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. For this reason, we value a strong partnership between home and school. Each week, scholars focus on a specific virtue, such as kindness, perseverance, or gratitude. These virtues guide classroom expectations, relationships, and our approach to discipline, which emphasizes growth, accountability, and restoration rooted in faith.
We invite you to visit our campus, meet our teachers, and experience the joy, faith, and purpose that fill our classrooms. We hope that you will find St. Charles Borromeo Academy to be a welcoming community where faith, tradition, and academic excellence come together each day. May God bless you as you discern the best educational path for your child. We would be honored to welcome your family into our school community.
Faithfully in Christ,
Mrs. Mary Stewart
Principal
