First Annual City-Wide Prayer Breakfast
for Classical Model Catholic Education

Together we will pray for the success of Borromeo Academy, the future of Catholic education, and for each other.  During breakfast, Bishop James V. Johnston will speak on the importance of Catholic education, Principal Ann Lachowitzer will provide an update on the progress of Borromeo Academy, and Fr. Don Farnan will discuss our hopes for the future.  Meet the students of Borromeo Academy, and enjoy a short video presentation on the Classical Model by Michael McGlinn.

Fundraising goal:  $50,000

Funds raised will support the Borromeo Academy Sponsorship Program.  Donations may be made prior to the event, online, and during the prayer breakfast.  To make an online donation, please click here.

What is a Prayer Breakfast?
An event, usually a fundraiser, which creates community around a cause through prayer and education. It is also an opportunity to attend morning Mass, have breakfast and socialize before the work day begins.

Is this a fundraiser?
This is an annual fundraiser.
Year one: monies raised support Borromeo Academy
Year two: 75% funds for Borromeo Academy, 25% toward endowment
Year three: 50% funds for Borromeo Academy, 50% funds toward endowment

What is the purpose?
To come together to pray for and with each other, for the success of Borromeo Academy and for Catholic education, in general. To discuss the importance of Catholic education, to update the larger community on the progress of Borromeo Academy and to hear about Borromeo Academy’s hopes for the future. To educate people on the benefits of a Catholic Classical model education and to bring about dialogue that could lead to positive change in our diocese. To raise money for Borromeo Academy.

What is "City-wide"?
St. Charles Borromeo is hosting the Prayer Breakfast on December 4.  We are inviting anyone who is interested in learning more about the classical model, praying for the success of Borromeo Academy, and continuing the dialogue on the importance of Catholic education.  St. Charles Borromeo parishioners and Borromeo Academy families are encouraged to attend along with anyone from the greater Kansas City area.

How can I help?
Attend the Mass and/or register for a table at the prayer breakfast on December 4. Make a donation. Encourage people you know to attend the Mass and/or the breakfast. Solicit donations. Volunteer to be a Table Captain. Join our committee.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Mass at 7:30am in the St. Charles Borromeo church. You must make a reservation to attend the breakfast at Borromeo Academy. See below.
